Wdasm Reversing
Wdasm is one of the best disassemblers around (the best one should be
the beta version of WCB32, which unfortunately seems to have disappeared from the web...
has it been killed? Anyone with knowledge about it, please email me immediately)
Wdasm is therefore now almost dominating the disassembler's scene. Author Peter Urbanik, a
very good programmer, seems unfortunately, in the recent times, to waste a lot of time on
the "debugger" adds-on to his splendid disassembler, which are (IMHO) pretty
useless. Numega's debugger cannot be beaten (yet) and we -on the other hand- would need
MANY improvements to wdasm's disassembling capabilities, for instance much less
"cluttering" of printed and screen space... for goddam sake Peter, let's have as
default:

begone all the (U)nconditional or (C)onditional crap! We already have the
(C)! Why do you compel us to modify your program in order to have it working as it should
from the beginning?
I may add a last advice to our readers: eventually, BUY this target, I know it sounds
funny to "buy" a program, but this one is actually one of the few that do indeed
deserve some money ("some", and not too much, though, and be careful and wait
for a "solid" version, Urbanik updates a little too oft to be always stabile).

I would like to CLOSE this project in order to give Urbanik more time to ameliorate his
product... he's already losing a lot of money because his product is now FAMOUS and
therefore you can find fully registered complete and unprotected versions of it everywhere
on the Web (except on my page :-).
Please keep for yourself your studies on Wdasm protection scheme from now on (I'm not
saying you should not crack the future versions, I'm just saying I would like NOT to
publish any more essays on this). We will probably not release any more reversing of wdasm
outside the +HCU, for the reasons explained inside TWD's recent
essay.
